Anytime, Anywhere,
TRT will be there!
In 1945,immediately following WWII, my father, who speaks German, was

"Why did you let Hitler do this?"
The answer always was, "I stood alone."

Subject: How To March With Enemies (and have fun doing it) (fwd)
Date: 15 Apr 2003 10:26:25 -0700 (PDT)
----------------------- begin forwarded message from Nosy ---------------------
Having made the point quite clearly that there are some groups
I'd never march with, I reallized that there is one way such
might be possible and even desireable.
It seems that a couple of men infiltrated the San Francisco
anti-war protest carrying a couple of signs.
"Communism has only killed 100,000,000 people -
Give It Another Chance!"
This one is, of course, quite relevent given the various
recruiting tables that were set up by the WWP and
other pro-Communist orgs at the rally/march.
It wasn't too popular, apparently, especially with Communists.
"Protect Islamic Property Rights - Stop The War"
This sign had a picture of a woman wearing a burkha,
tied to a post like livestock. This one wasn't
popular, either.
So there's a way to march with one's enemies,
while making a clear position/point.
Consider my hypothetical (may it always remain so)
pro-RKBA march, run by the American Nazi Party.
I have a vision...
The Nazi scum march along, with the usual garbage
signs and banners. Saving the best for last, at
the end of the march we have some 200 men, marching
10 wide (with spacing that fills a street) and 20 deep.
They wear the black clothing of the Hasadim (preferably
all are Hasidic Jews, but if need be, we can get men
willing to dress for the occasion). They have signs, too.
Perhaps modeled on the "Burma - Shave" highway signs of
years ago, thusly
First rank: "Guns Kill"
Fifth rank: "Nazi's do, too"
Tenth rank: "But Jews With Guns"
Fifteenth rank: "Shoot Nazi's Through And Through"
Twentieth rank: "RKBA!"
And of course, as they march, they need jody calls...
"Every Jew should have a gun!
Shoot dem Nazi's when they come!"
"Nazi-boy break down my door!
BOOM! Dead Nazi on the floor!"
"SOUND OFF! One, two!
SOUND OFF! Three, four!
CADENCE CALL! One, two, three, four, one, two, THREE, FOUR!"
Ok, ok, ok, I admit I'm lacking in subtlety this morning.

GUN LAW UPDATE, 2/27/03
from Alan Korwin, Author
Gun Laws Of America
THE GUN-FREE-ZONE LIABILITY ACT
"If you create a gun-free zone, you're liable for any harm it causes."
Good news! Both Arizona and Georgia have put this bill in their
legislatures for 2003 (HB2320 in AZ, HB31 in GA). Several other
states are considering doing the same.
Gun-free zones are known to be dangerous -- the idea that they
somehow make you safer is a fraud. They are reckless, negligent,
and a denial of civil rights that is long overdue for a closer
look.
Maybe this bill belongs in your legislature too. You or someone
you know should talk to one of your representatives about intro-
ducing it, to start the dialog rolling on the dangers of arbitrary,
discriminatory gun-free zones. A person who would deny your right
or ability to self defense is as violent and wrong as the person
who assaults you.
Read the bill (it's short) and the talking points on our website.
An awful lot of bad bills are planned. It's important to counter-
act those with bills as positive as this one. Remember, if you
get hurt because they made you leave your gun behind, they should
be held responsible. Model language:
http://www.gunlaws.com/GFZ/index.htm
NOTES ON FEDERAL GUN LAW
Federal gun law has grown 6.5% since Oct. 2000, to a new total
of 94,333 words.
I've boiled out the new federal gun laws tucked away in The Patriot
Act, the Aviation and Transportation Security Act, and the Homeland
Security Act. The latest edition of Gun Laws of America (the 4th)
has the whole ball of wax: 5,749 new words of law, in 22 separate
sections, from four enacted federal laws.
There is a disturbing trend in the new gun laws toward arming "the
proper authorities" where you and I can't be armed. The government
is essentially authorizing itself to have unrestricted Second
Amendment rights while the public by default gets the right to bear
arms curtailed. It's quite clever actually. The net result is six,
yes six new federal "police forces" (listed below, with other
highlights). These are government employees who can pretty much bear
arms at all times. Now wouldn't that be a nice right to have!
Oh, and despite all the news stories that say otherwise, it's not
exactly arm the pilots, it's deputize the pilots, and arm the
deputies. It may seem a small difference, but it places control of
the pilot in federal hands, allows the feds to "undeputize" someone
to remove the ability to be armed, and the idea of having guns in the
hands of non-government officials on board -- you, me or pilots --
was unacceptable, hence the current plan.
A huge range of issues are identified for arming pilots, including
for example:
- The type of firearm and ammo to be used
- Placement of the gun in the cockpit to ensure both its security
and easy retrieval
- Firearm retention
- Accidental discharge reporting and repercussions
- Interaction between air marshals, the pilot, crew and other persons
- Pilot selection and training
- Storage and transit of guns between flights and when pilots go
off site
- Notifying security staff when pilots or others are authorized
to be armed
- Analysis of the risk of catastrophic aircraft failure from
gunfire to controls or sensitive areas of the craft (the results
are classified)
- Guidelines on use of lethal force and,
- Naturally, anything else the authorities deem necessary.
Pilots with military and law enforcement backgrounds are to get
preference in the selection process. Although guns will be provided,
pilots may buy their own. Participating pilots are not eligible for
compensation from the government for their services as FFDOs. Limited
liability is provided for airlines, the pilots and the government,
for using or failing to use the guns.
Air carriers are prohibited from pressuring or forbidding their pilots
from volunteering for the program, firing them for participating, or
refusing to let them pilot aircraft. Nothing's easy, eh?
Why doesn't the news ever look like this report.
Summary of changes in the 4th edition of "Gun Laws of America"
1. Clinton cuts a deal with S&W, Congress outlaws it. (DOD Spending 2001)
2. New federal police authorized: Federal Reserve Board Police (Patriot Act)
3. New federal police authorized: Transportation Security Police (ATSA)
4. DOT can use local armed officials to aid federal air marshals (ATSA)
5. Firearm training for crew authorized (ATSA)
6. DOT must arm every airport screening location (ATSA)
7. "Less-Than-Lethal Weaponry" term introduced (ATSA)
8. Arm the Pilots, round 1, a farce, repealed, replaced a year later. (ATSA)
9. DOJ gun research office for personalized guns and portable armor (Homeland)
10. New federal police authorized: Inspector Generals Police (Homeland)
11. BATF replaced by BATFE, moved from Treasury to Justice Dept. (Homeland)
12. New federal police authorized: BATFE (Homeland)
13. Arm the Pilots round 2, "Federal Flight Deck Officers" (Homeland)
14. Coordinate any armed officials who might be on an aircraft (Homeland)
15. New federal police authorized: Homeland Security Police (Homeland)
SUPREME COURT GUN CASES
All I can say is that this new book of mine is steadily moving ahead
but it's not done yet. I know some of you are real eager, it's just
that the project is so huge and I have a lot on my plate. Please be
patient. I pour in the hours and it soaks them up like a sponge. But
it's going to be worth it when it's finally out, because the Supreme
Court has said a ton about guns, and it's remarkably supportive of
the routine individual access to arms Americans have and have always
exercised. I'll have all the cases, with plain-English gists, and
with hundreds of the juiciest quotes highlighted, plus top flight
sections from David Kopel and Stephen Halbrook, soon. Real soon.

Subject: IS IT THE NRA VS. THE GOA IN TEXAS ALL OVER AGAIN?, By Carl F. Worden (fwd)

----------------------- begin forwarded message from Carl F. Worden ---------------------
Is It The NRA vs. The GOA In Texas All Over Again?
By Carl F. Worden
Here we go again! This time, the NRA is threatening to pull its support
of the most constitutionally aggressive representative we have in
Congress, Ron Paul. Why? Because Representative Ron Paul insisted on
maintaining state's rights under Article X of the Bill of Rights, by
opposing federal legislation to thwart all litigation against firearms
makers for simply manufacturing guns that might be used to kill people.
Now, most gun owners would rejoice at that legislation, and I thought it
was a great idea too, until I was reminded it is just another federal
violation of Article X. Talk about mixed feelings!! I have them too,
but unless and until we learn to support and defend the Constitution in
ALL cases, whether we like them or not, we are just going to continue
down the same road of defiling that legally binding document.
Representative Paul has proven time and time again that he will not
compromise constitutional principle for any reason, and he happens to be
the strongest supporter of Second Amendment individual guns rights we
have in the Congress.
The NRA is engaging in "Situation Ethics", whereby they support the idea
that the ends justify the means if it happens to be something the NRA
supports. It doesn't matter to the NRA if the legislation is
unconstitutional on its face, so long as it gets them where they want to
go.
Nothing in the Constitution gives the federal government the authority
to tell a state or a citizen what kind of remedy by litigation they may
pursue in state or federal court, and Article X of the Bill of Rights
specifically bars the federal government from seizing authority in any
area not specifically given the federal government by the Constitution.
Any questions? Read it for yourself.
Let's take this a step further: If the federal government can pass
legislation barring state, city and individual lawsuits against gun
manufacturers for manufacturing guns, they can pass legislation barring
the same kind of lawsuits against cigarette manufacturers. They can
pass similar legislation barring lawsuits against any industry, from
pharmaceutical companies to automobile manufacturers. Representative
Paul recognized that, and therefore voted his conscience by opposing the
legislation, and the NRA had a cow.
Gun Owners of America, the second largest gun rights group, strongly
supports Representative Paul, regardless of his position on this
legislation, because its Director, Larry Pratt, appreciates
Representative Paul's uncompromising stance on constitutional ethics,
whether it be Second Amendment rights, or Tenth Amendment restrictions.
Do any of you happen to remember a dirt-bag by the name of
Representative Jack Brooks of Texas? Hmm? Most of us gun owners do.
He is the man who sat as House chairman of the Crime Conference
Committee in 1994, the committee considering whether to pass the 1994
"Crime Bill" that included the infamous federal Assault Weapon Ban and a
restriction on gun magazines holding more than ten rounds. Brooks was
also Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Brooks was a Democrat,
who usually supported most gun rights legislation, but in this case Jack
Brooks allowed the Crime Bill out of his committee to be voted on, and
it was subsequently passed into legislation that just happens to come up
for renewal under our current president, George W. Bush.
Through a spokesman, our darling "pro-gun" Christian president has
recently stated his support for renewing the federal Assault Weapon Ban
if and when it glides across his desk. If I'm right, GW will be a
one-term president just like his father for that transgression.
Remember, "Read my lips."?
Anyway, we would not have the federal Assault Weapon Ban were it not for
turncoat Representative Jack Brooks. And by the way, it turns out our
Miss Brooks took a virtual bribe: The crime bill included ten million
dollars to Lamar University, which coincidentally, was in Jack Brook's
district. What a shock. Brooks had been in continuous office a total
of 42 years, but his luck was about to change.
As a result of Brook's betrayal, a Republican challenger by the name of
Steve Stockman decided to run against Brooks. Gun Owners of America
staunchly backed Stockman against Brooks. Stockman was aggressively
pro-Second Amendment, and asked the support of the NRA as well.
Incredibly, the NRA placed its support behind Jack Brooks. Here was a
man who had almost single handedly allowed the federal Assault Weapon
Ban to pass into law, yet the NRA backed Brooks for no other reason than
the usually pro-gun Brooks had a better chance of winning! I swear I'm
not making this up.
As it turned out, Steve Stockman defeated the 42-year incumbent for his
seat in 1994, and to those of us who remember it well, the NRA had egg
all over its face. 1994 turned out to be the year the Democrats lost
their power in Congress, and former President Bill Clinton admitted that
the passage of the federal Assault Weapon Ban was the sole reason.
I haven't been a member of the NRA ever since the Jack Brooks debacle.
When that shameful act played out, I completely lost confidence in the
management of the NRA and lent my full support to Gun Owners of America
(GOA) and Jews For The Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO).
It looks like the NRA is about to make the same stupid mistake all over
again. It is perpetually wrong and foolhardy to believe the ends
justify the means, and only the most immoral subscribe to situation
ethics. Perhaps this will be a most well deserved nail in the NRA's
coffin. Assuming the average member is as outraged as me, it will
probably result in yet another substantial loss of NRA members.
Do they take lessons to garner this high level of stupidity, or what?

Subject: [ALERT] Support important Second Amendment bill (fwd)
Date: 29 Apr 2003 11:36:03 -0700 (PDT)
----------------------- begin forwarded message from ConservativeAlerts.com ---------------------
ISSUE: Radio talk show host Chuck Baldwin (www.chuckbaldwinlive.com)
recently notified his audience that, "while most new laws emanating from
Washington, D.C., these days tend to take freedoms away from us, there is
one bill currently in the U.S. House of Representatives that deserves the
full support of every American. The bill is numbered H.R. 990 and is
titled the 'Secure Access to Firearms Enhancement (SAFE) Act of 2003.'"
The bill's chief sponsor is Rep. John Hostettler (R-IN).
What this pro-Second Amendment bill does is reciprocate state Carry
Concealed Weapons (CCW) permits in much the same way that driver's
licenses are reciprocated state to state. In other words, a person who has
a Concealed Carry permit in one state would be legally allowed to carry
his concealed weapon in other states. (Feel free to look up the actual
wording of the bill at http://thomas.loc.gov/)
One could argue that it shouldn't even be necessary to obtain a permit to
carry a firearm, as this freedom is duly recognized by the U.S.
Constitution as an unalienable, God-given right. However, the only state
in the Union that recognizes this right by allowing its citizens to carry
firearms without a license is Vermont. This is one reason why Vermont has
one of the lowest crime rates in the country.
However, as long as obtaining CCW permits is the only manner in which
law-abiding citizens may legally carry concealed weapons, it only makes
sense that they be allowed to freely carry weapons when visiting states
outside their residence. In fact, out-of-state visitors are often primary
targets of criminals, because they know most visitors will be unarmed in
compliance with those state laws restricting such carry. Therefore, this
law will doubtless save the lives of countless law-abiding people.
ACTION ITEM: Currently, the bill has 22 co-sponsors. Along with Chuck
Baldwin, we want to encourage our members to contact their representative
and encourage him or her to become a co-sponsor of this important bill.
The freedom to possess and carry a firearm is consistent with the Second
Amendment and should never be denied by law.
Go to the site below to contact your House member today, and encourage
them to support H. R. 990. And while we're at it, we'll copy President
Bush on your message. Let's see if he'll get behind this bill:
