In an exclusive, copyrighted story that appears on newsstands Monday, Marine Corps Times reports that the weapon, called the Vehicle-Mounted Active Denial System is designed to stop an individual in his tracks and make him turn and flee. The Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate in Quantico, Va., had planned to unveil the technology in April after briefing Marine Commandant Gen. James Jones, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Michael Ryan and senior Defense Department civilians, still not appointed. But plans were accelerated and much of the program declassified after Marine Corps Times learned of the story. Plans now call for an unveiling and demonstration for military and congressional leaders in March at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. The VMADS project is co-sponsored by the Marine Corps and the Air Force, which has conducted much of the research and development. He loves his country and seeks to save it. I will save the Judge and Generals accusations and comments until all of this is over. My husband handled himself well on the stand. Request for George Bush to pardon the Davidian prisoners. We must never forget that David Koresh came to the front door to try to talk and would have accepted a search warrant had BATF agents offered one--instead they shot him, and killed six Davidians before the day was done. So much for the Bill of Rights and all other basic liberties in America. This Sunday Kevin Whitecliff called me. He is one of seven Davidian Prisoners now serving 15 years in federal prison--cut from 40 years by the Supreme Court last June! Five were convicted of aiding and abetting voluntary manslaughter and, mistakenly, of weapons charges tied to murder charges, of which they were aquitted. Two were found guilty of weapons charges based on no or flawed evidence. I asked Kevin if he was considering applying for a pardon, or at least clemency, from President George Bush. He said he was considering it, but wasn't optimistic that Bush would grant it. I said it would help if some big organization like Judicial Watch or the Libertarian Party, or some well known individual could really spearhead a pardon effort. He said, "How about Charlton Heston? He said they'll have to pry his gun from cold dead hands! He's so cool -- it was watching him as a kid playing Moses that really got me into all this, you know, religion, God." Well, I know know if Moses or Charleton Heston is going to come down from the Mountains to save the Davidians from another five years in prison (assuming time off for good behavior). But I do know that those of us out here should at least keep reminding Bush that they deserve a pardon, as we wait for some one to organize a more formal effort and encourage the Davidians to ask for such pardon or clemency. The purpose of this FAQ is to inform people what they can do about Media generated lies and misinformation. While the FCC only handles Broadcast Media, (TV and Radio), some of these techniques will work for magazines and newspapers too. If I've missed something, or you find errors, let me know and I'll add/fix it. 1.a. Send letters of complaint to the Station Manager every time it happens with all the time, details, other info, and your complaint(s). 1.b. Send an additional copy for their FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Public file. 1.c. Send an additional copy to the FCC itself, in case they don't put it in their Public file. 2.a. Send a letter of complaint to their Station Owner as per above, with copies as per above (1.b and 1.c). 3. Send copies of their replies to you along with yours to them to their FCC Public file, so that it gets nice and fat, again, with copies to the FCC itself. 4. If you can afford it, send all corespondence by Certified Mail with Return Receipt Requested. Send a copy of the Return Receipt with everything that goes to the FCC itself, so that they will have additional evidence if the Station is cheating on their Public File. 5.a. Go to the Public Library and look up "Standard Rate and Data Services" (SRDS) "Directory of National Advertisers." It is found in many major Libraries (in the business/reference stacks), and lists EVERY current advertiser, who the players are at both the company and advertising agency(s), and the appropriate telephone and fax (and probably E-Mail by now) addresses. If your Library doesn't have it, it can be requested. Otherwise you can watch their commercials for a few days to a week, listing all their advertisers. There are other references that have the addresses for the nation's business headquarters too. look them all up and pass the addresses and phone/FAX numbers etc., around so that everyone can bitch to the sponsors. IF enough people do that, it'll get back to the Station. Tell them if the Station continues their nastiness you'll _consider_ changing to brand(X), (otherwise they'll just write you off as a loss). 5.b. The above, (5.a.), can be a lot easier and less time consuming if you're dealing with a newspaper's or a magazine's ads, as they are right in front of you for the listing. 6. If they put on something good or even just more reasonable, call and compliment them on it, but do _not_ send any kudos to their FCC file, or write to them about it. That way they have to keep it up and hope, as there is nothing good in the file or in writing that they can show the FCC to justify their Station's License. 7. You may learn, but don't question. You may do anything, as long as we approve. Nazi Germany, 1939? Soviet Union, 1958? George Orwell, 1984? Not exactly. Welcome to Villanova University, where education means indoctrination. You will be liberal, and you will like it. Villanova is a paradox, a Catholic university where administration and faculty are dominated by activist socialists. They are quite willing to crack the ruler over your knuckles if you don't adhere to the party line. Democrat party, that is My personal experience with Villanova's Speech Nazis began when student and editor of the Villanova Times, Chris Lilik, noticed conservative speakers weren't invited to campus, and asked Charlton Heston to speak. Lilik asked me to be Master of Ceremonies. Charlton Heston? The NRA guy? Villanova bigwigs were horrified. First, they tried passive resistance, refusing to pay Heston, provide lodging or pay for security. Heston waived his $30,000 fee, brought his own security and Lilik paid the hotel bill. Villanova upped the ante. University President Father Edmond Dobbin took the Heston notice off the school website, student development refused to send the customary campus e-mail notice and administrators even tore down event posters. Heston didn't budge. Faced with impending doom, the Villanova dogmatics were desperate. Time to call the heavy artillery. The hotline rang to "The Center For Peace And Justice." CPJ is the campus political correctness police. Look up CPJ on the Villanova website, and you'll find Amnesty International, Bread For The World, Democratic Socialists of America, International Coalition Against Racism, Villanova Environmental Group, Villanova Feminist Coalition, a who's-who of Villanova liberalism. CPJ is not an ad-hoc student group. It's an accredited Arts and Sciences program. You can learn self-victimization, race-baiting, even protesting. As a major! CPJ not only supports campus liberals, they actively attack Villanova conservatives. And that's how the CPJ entered the fray. When everything else failed, CPJ organized, incited and sponsored protesters for Heston's event, and made sure Heston's people knew. Still, Heston didn't flinch. The only thing left was to bankrupt Lilik's event. Villanova claimed it now needed 21 security guards required to police the school-sponsored protesters, to the tune of $1,827.00. Even that extortion scheme didn't work. Heston was coming. Obviously miffed, Villanova needed another target. Earlier that week, Vasavi Reddy, Villanova's liberal darling and CPJ graduate accused Lilik of racism because the Villanova Times poor print quality inadvertently made black people appear like "black blobs" in his newspaper. Lilik was livid. He was showing campus diversity by including friends of color. That's racism? Not one administrator came to Lilik's defense. None. Enter Tom Adkins. I admit it. I am a political Don Quixote. I insist upon righting all wrongs. Shocked, I wrote a scathing letter attacking race-baiting Reddy and exposing the CPJ as a corrupt liberal enforcement agency. Lilik printed it. The university went nuts. They threatened to bar me from campus and demanded Lilik remove me from the event. Lilik wouldn't budge. Finally, Villanova approached Heston's security people, hysterically claiming I was a crazed racist and the entire campus was ready to storm the event if I spoke. Frightened, Heston's handlers threatened to withdraw if I spoke. Finally, to preserve the event, I withdrew. The Heston event went great. The protesters couldn't fill a school bus. But Villanova got their pound of flesh from Lilik, jacking up expenses so he lost money. And they silenced a conservative critic who busted their indoctrination program. But it cost them. The story made dozens of major newspapers, and Lilik told 5 million people on Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor. Now, the world knows Villanova is preaching hate in the name of caring, division in the name of unity, selectivity in the name of diversity, and censorship in the name of freedom. All under the ever-vigilant eyes of the antonymous big-brother organization know as The Center For Peace And Justice. Like Orwell predicted and dictators from Hitler to Mao attempted, institutions of higher learning have become newspeak re-education camps. Villanova is a nice gulag ... shiny buildings, good parking, nice dorms with cable TV and a great gym, even a football field. But freedom of thought, freedom of association, freedom to speak, and even freedom to simply dissent are punishable. And Villanova's men of the cloth will apparently take any length to preserve their failed dogma. But what good is dogma if it cannot stand scrutiny? Indoctrination is certain proof of intellectual bankruptcy. Censorship is certain proof of philosophical corruption. Lying and deceit are proof of heresy. In the name of God and $30,000 tuition, Villanova University is guilty, with academic and religious reputation in tatters. And the Pope wonders why kids don't believe in Catholicism anymore. Though House leaders quashed the proposal last month, rank-and-file Democratic and Republican lawmakers are trying to revive it. The tax-free stipend, which would total nearly $25,000 a year for each member, would not require a formal vote or additional funds because lawmakers -- if House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) agrees to allow them -- could simply take it out of their office accounts, which they now use for staff salaries, equipment, supplies and other incidental expenses. Proponents of the idea, who note that 44 state legislatures provide per diem payments to their members, argue that the $145,100 annual salary of House members is unable to cover the costs of maintaining homes in their districts and in Washington. "We're just talking about being treated like everybody else," said Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.). "It's a strain on me, trying to maintain two households." The issue of congressional pay has bedeviled lawmakers for years. While current law dictates that House members are entitled to an annual cost-of-living adjustment, a few fiscal conservatives usually derail it by forcing a floor vote on the issue. Last year, congressional leaders managed to head off such an effort and awarded members a 2.7 percent pay increase. Aides said Hastert and House Minority Leader Richard A. Gephardt (D-Mo.) oppose the idea as politically unpalatable, which means it is unlikely the lawmakers' demands will be met. At a time when companies are laying off workers and politicians are touting the need to restrain federal spending, they argued, House members would be hard-pressed to justify tens of thousands of dollars in additional compensation. One GOP leadership aide called it "a PR disaster." Fred Wertheimer, president of the public watchdog group Democracy 21, suggested that the idea would prompt a flood of protests from voters. "It seems like absolute madness. If House members want a $25,000 salary increase, then they ought to vote on it," Wertheimer said. "But the idea of using a backdoor way to sneak through a $25,000 pay increase would be the height of arrogance, and an extremely unaccountable act on the part of the House." The support for the proposed daily allowance highlights the growing financial pressures confronting many members of Congress, especially in the House. Lawmakers, many of whom could earn much more if they returned to private life, said Congress risks losing qualified members if the gap between public sector and private sector salaries continues to widen. The cost of maintaining two homes, even if it means a modest apartment in the D.C. area, cuts into members' take-home pay. Rep. Mark Edward Souder, a conservative Indiana Republican, said he would support a daily allowance because the annual $3,000 tax deduction for housing costs that he receives - -- which would be eliminated under the proposed change -- barely covers three months' rent for his Arlington efficiency. "There isn't any secret this is a real financial hit," said Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (D-Calif.). "It's very important to talk about, because I don't think we need a society of multimillionaires in the House." The idea is particularly popular among lawmakers from California and New York, whose state legislators receive a generous per diem when they travel to the state capital. Many of these House members also come from relatively safe seats, making them less nervous about the prospect of angering voters. Past attempts to provide a daily allowance sparked controversy. In 1982, the House voted overwhelmingly to reverse a provision -- adopted a year earlier -- that gave lawmakers a $75-per-day audit-proof tax deduction. For the moment, neither party's leader appears eager to take up the crusade. Hastert spokesman John Feehery said on Thursday: "My understanding is that it's not going to happen." Gephardt spokeswoman Laura Nichols said it is up to the GOP to make the change. "If a majority of members and the Republican leadership want a per diem, they'll have it," Nichols said. "It's their prerogative as a majority to make this happen." [Forwarded For Information Purposes Only - Not Necessarily Endorsed By The Sender - A.K. Pritchard] - ------------------------------ A.K.
