Infidels, tyrants of the dancefloor. Shit stirrers, troublemakers
aboard a Caledonian Trojan horse. Any way you slice it - they're
back. And they haven't brought any samples. or so they claim. they
also claim they had nothing to do with the graffiti that appeared to
advertise this infernal incantation on a motorway bridge last year,
when the record was made availible to club DJs only.
	Graffiti that was the subject of a question in the House of Commons
... "Bolton, Barnsley, Buxton, Burnley, Bradford". The Scotsman
picks over the place names with gruesome relish, the backing track
pummels and tweaks, blasts and buffets him round the furthest
God-forsaken reaches of this demi-paradise, this land of kings, this
sceptred isle, this England.
	He hits all the hotspots "Preston, Prestwich, Chester, Accrington
Stanley, Grimsby, Glossop, Hebden Bridge." A thing of feverish,
fiendish irreverence and conceptual genius, 'It's Grim' climaxes
with a burst of orchestral splendour, a beacon of pomp and
circumstance, a reminder of all that is great and noble in this
green and pleasant land. And then at the close the killer blow - a
lonesome seagull squawking over the barren wasteland. And thus,
vengence and poignance make unlikely but, in this case, well suited
bedfellows.
