Frick" Subject: (orb) My CD, "Visitation", Released... Greetings, all! Finally, after many months of scrambling to collect enough money to press it, my CD "Visitation" is for sale. The CD contains six tracks, filling up over 50 minutes of music. The complete track listing is available at http://www.westol.com/~frickblj/cd.html. This is an exciting adventure for me, as it's my first CD. All of the songs are originals, influenced by such musicians as Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, and The Orb. Many people think my music is similar to that of Pete Namlook. If you would be interested in obtaining a copy of this CD, please contact me. I would be happy to get a copy right out to you. The CD costs $12, plus shipping costs, which are $2 for US/Canada, $3 for UK/Europe/Asia/Africa, and $4 Pacific Rim. I look forward to hearing from you. Well...the only place I've seen/heard of Roz William's death was in the LA Weekly, and the obituary/eulogy was written by Ron Athey, a former lover of Roz's...it does *not* glamorize his death, or martyr him, although hanging oneself on April Fool's Day is certainly begging to be glamorized and martyred. If half of what I've read of Roz's life is accurate, I'm not surprised that he ended up killing himself...I'm not gloating, I'm not glad, but he apparently had his reasons, and I am the last one to question someone else's decision to kill theirself. That is a decision process that everyone must undergo for theirself. I'm almost sure it was this list that mentioned something about music in healing. Well it just so happened that my brother (who I share a house with) bought a compilation album: "The Corners of the Mouth - A benefit record for the school of sound". This school of sound has something to do with the Sound Healers Association in the US. There is a load of guff in the liner notes about how the frequencies of sounds outside the body can affect the frequency of vibration inside - all that resonance stuff that the likes of Coil tried in the eighties and those mad classical composers tried in the 50s and 60s. But the album has some high points, heres the list: Mouse on Mars - Funkytise Oval - Polygon Med Pak Hearing is our Concern - Fragmented Seefeel - Filter Dub (Low Pass Mix) Moby/Voodoo Child - Frog (credited to Richard Hall only, so who is Voodoo Child?) AUBE - Gloriole Mice Parade - Peeking around the Corner E.A.R. - Orpheus The Philistines Jr. - Tha Annual Convention of Unemployed Spies Scanner - My Lost Love Hunting Your Lost Face The Dylan Group - Decay The Mouse on Mars, AUBE and Scanner tunes are the highlights of this compilation, but the rest is pretty damn good - apart from the Hearing is our Concern which, although very good, is soooo Autechre-ish without that certain Autechre majick that its a bit of a shame they didn't just come up with something new!
