Also, don't turn it up too high because you'll get some nasty distortion. I don't know whether Warp controlled the copyrights to the tracks in question, but it's kind of a moot point -- they would have no problem getting in touch with the people who *do* control that copyright, so anyone who told them to fuck off would basically be painting a big red target on their back. Online copyright violation is a lot riskier nowadays that it used to be. There are specific criminal laws against it now in the US, and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is actively going after small-time .mp3 sites in an attempt to make an example of people. - -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo) ::: Internet Music Wantlists: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo/Wantlists # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Jun 1998 11:04:02 -0500 From: Don Gagen Subject: (orb) Record stores and clubs A friend of mine is going to several cities throughout Europe this summer. I posted a message the other day inquiring as to whether anyone knew of the whereabouts of Jeff Boyd. I located him. He's alive and well! I today received the cd he sent, and he in turn received the one I had sent. Basically, I just wanted to clear that up with the list...I realize that my previous post on this subject might have been taken the wrong way, with the recent "issue" over the U2/Orb cd and all--I didn't want to get anyone "blacklisted," you know! ;-) Hey, to keep this somewhat Orb-related...or rather, list-related.... How many people subscribe to this list? I'm rather curious, I must admit.... Later! The Company was formed to become a general partner of ORBCOMM Global, (" "ORBCOMM Global") which is developing the world's first commercial, low-earth-orbit satellite-based data communications system." It goes on: "ORBCOMM Global will use the net proceeds of the sale of Partnership Units to the Company primarily for: (i) the design, construction and launch of the planned 36-satellite enhanced constellation" Now we know what LX is doing in his spare time. john goerner johng@usgravitics.com " Better Living With Gravity " # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jun 1998 20:13:59 -0400 (EDT) From: jose f pabon coe stnt Subject: (orb) Dollshead single... is this available on cd?
