The latter is probably not true unless you have a zip drive (or something similar). The MP3 file format is not platform specific so there should be no problem downloading them on a PC and playing them on a Mac. The insurance acts as both proof of mailing, AND would insure the package in the event that it's either lost or damaged in transit. The insurance was about an extra dollar. Sometimes the packages would arrive in two days; other times, it would take two weeks. Who knows why? Checks can easily take more than 2 weeks to clear...if you have the wrong set of circumstances and bank policies. And that only deals with checks that are domestic to you. In the US, it can easily cost $15-$30 dollars to convert a foreign check. It can be cheaper in Europe, but isn't necessarily. International money orders or cash are the usual way to do it. A lot of people will accept US$ in payment, but not everybody. There are about 20 (that I know of). I got an ad in the mail to subsribe to it, but I chose not to. However, there is a best of compilation of all the compilations (sounds weird eh?) called "Wasted" that has a remix of back side of the moon (I think - don't have the discs w/ me). It also has the original version of the reefer song. I don't listen to it often, so I guess I can put it up for trade if anybody is interested. Unfortunately, I don't have the track listing to post, but I will still accept offers. Maybe you know something about this guy that I don't, but it looks to me like he just introduced himself to the list, is boasting about his impressive collection (I would, too), and isn't trying to run some scam. Maybe I'm missing some past history here, but should someone be so quick to make such accusations? When I was in my "Prince" phase, I had nearly 100 Prince discs (original and bootlegs) that were all purchased from the same record shop without trading or ripping anyone off. If you can't source CD's without trading with people, you're right -- you'll never build a large collection, but there are plenty of us out here that know how and where to buy rare and out of print cd's regularly.
