The real problem is, as you said, we all know it's illegal, but every time it's mentioned, someone tries to justify it and posts that they think there's a loophole, or whatever. That misinformation has to be corrected, because it can get people into a lot of trouble if they don't know what they're getting into. The people who put up the archive are clearly willing to take the risk, but they realize there's a risk involved. > What does OOBE stand for.... > > (Something)Outof Body Experience? But, if the Orb >specifically said they don't mind then drop the issue and don't worry >about it.... Amen. Let's get real -- of course this is illegal. If you're so concerned about whether or not this is illegal, 1. don't download anything so YOU aren't breaking any laws, and 2. Give Island a call and ask them -- I bet they will have an answer for you. If you're like me, your probably plowing through countless emails about legal issues with MP3's while you're downloading a couple MP3's in the background! I know what I'm doing is illegal, I also know there are hundreds of thousands of people all over the world doing the exact same thing right now, and I also know I've spent well over $1,000 on Orb music in the past few years -- believe me, somebody got paid from me already, and finally, I already own almost all the music on the OAA anyways, it's just easier for me to d/l them than ripping and encoding to have these tracks on MP3. You want a bunch of cool Orb music? Shut up and start downloading. You want to beat a dead horse and discuss whether or not this is illegal? IT IS, now shut up and start downloading. You better hurry before the site comes down because someone who cares catches on after seeing 200 posts on the list about the legalities of the OAA. Let's put this baby to bed and enjoy these FREE benefits being offered to us while we can. Thanks again OAA guys. The Orb remix definately has their mark on it however. Actually that's John *Oswald* and he got nailed for the cover art (Michael Jackson from the cover of "Bad" doctored to look like a nude woman under the jacket), not the samples. (They could easily have gotten him for the samples, though, so your original point is well taken. Flowing: ninezeronineight". Very strange title, but the album is absolutely great!! The guy who wrote the review for the german magazine "Musikexpress" which I posted to the list must be a Metallica fan ;-)). I would give the album 8 out of 10 possible points. The album is very "ambient" and full of cool samples... Our mate Alex Paterson co-wrote and mixed two tracks on this album called "6ix days" and "Teufel". Wicked!! ;-) So just give it a try, it's out on R&S records... cheers, Michael ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >> ***K THE MILLENNIUM - WE WANT IT NOW << http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Lofts/1353/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1998 10:31:10 -0700 (MST) From: Reverend bluE Subject: (orb) Future Music A couple weeks ago, a fellow was posting about the LX paterson interview in Future Music Magazine.
