May" Subject: (orb) another two questions. :) Okay, I'm currently listening to Organic 96, and I'm wondering about the next to last track, labeled as Fast Forward the Future. First off, is this in fact a mix of FFTF? It doesn't sound like it. Either way, where can I get it!?! I love this song, I wish it were longer than 2 minutes. :( Second, it seems to me that the orb likes the verion of Tower of Dub that appears on the visitor more than the original, most times they play it live they use that one, not the U.F.Orb version. I didn't like this mix for a long time, after having gotten so on love with the album mix, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it's bizarre minimalism... # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Apr 1999 14:20:53 -0400 From: "Jason Mansuy" Subject: Re: (orb) Pink Floyd!!!!!! - Rumors just as a side note, I saw an interview with Gilmour the other day saying that there are currently NO plans for a tour, album, or anything ANYWHERE in the future. looks like those who haven't seen them already (i.e. ME.. Own up? Shows how little you know, dude, and how you make assumptions and consequently make an ass out of yourself. Especially since he's on the list and he's watching. What would he have to own up to the Orb for? They had nothing at all to do with them. It's like the Orb having to own up to Banco De Gaia because they both go "thump thump thump" and you can dance to both of them. Mason and Wright have been in contact with him, complimenting him, not only on the music itself, but on the fact that he got around the all those money hungry publishing companies by sending it through the bootleg channels, i.e, he and distributors got the money, not some record company or licensing agent. They told him it was a brilliant idea. What I say to you, is that if you don't like those remixes, it's your problem and your problem only. If you bought any of them, he's already got your money, and it's far too late to complain about it. A lot of people like it and if you don't, you don't. If the object is to screw over the major record labels, one might think that a better way would be to sell high quality material for LESS than retail...or even less than wholesale.... Except for cds that command a premium (i.e., rare cds), I haven't paid retail for a cd in years. Bootlegs such as these Orb/Floyd mixes are *not* rare...at least not in the realm of Orbscure Trax or Aubrey Mixes.... At $25 U.S., that's DOUBLE the price of a legit cd.... Go figure....
