I had never heard this before (well not so clearly anyway) in the millions of times I have listened to it! this is what is so great about the orb... you always can hear something new so thanks andrew for making the orb new again for me! its sort of like the day I finally saw woody allen's "sleeper" with Rags the dog saying "hello, I'm Rags. woof woof woof." that bit rocks... orb on!!! luv KL # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 08:11:20 +0800 From: Kael Driscoll Subject: (orb) jean??? did i miss the whole "jean" thing? are referring to JC, jean-michel jarre, or jean genie? or something else??? whats going on? are my messages even hitting the list? help! # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 08:16:16 +0800 From: Kael Driscoll Subject: (orb) sun electric anyone? from www.ellesdesia.nl - ---------- ARTIST and TITLE: Sun Electric ; O'locco - Mixes LABEL, CODE and YEAR: R&S ; RS 93023 ; 1993 ELLESDESIA'S COMMENTS: Kama Sutra Mix + Space Therapy Mix + Orbital Therapy Part 1 + Part 2 + Part 3 + Part 4 CONDITION, FORMAT and PRICE: Mint ; 12 inch ; 8.30 USD ; 19.90 Dutch guilders - ---------- enjoy! # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 08:34:18 +0100 From: "mark lewis" Subject: Re: (orb) queen majesty on the "millwall mix" there is, right at the start an line that goes "you're thinking about something, my dear, that makes you forget to talk......" this is either from "Alice in wonderland" or "Alice through the looking glass". # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 10:06:28 PDT From: "That Ambient Guy" Subject: (orb) New Steve Roach Has anyone heard the new Steve Roach, "Midnight Moon?" is it good? Sorry I don't reply to your mails, but I think you can imagine why. Some of you suggested to make the MP3s at 256kbps. No problem for me, it will take only a couple of discs more. Some said they preferred all the stuff on normal CDs. Well, when MP3s are done at 256kbps the data loss wont be that much, so you might convert back to .WAV. The MP3 decoder I use is Audio Catalyst, other suggestions are welcome. Are 256 MP3s the best option? What about RealAudio or Microsoft streaming media files? I will try to answer some of your mails during the weekend. I also hope to have the database ready then. I printed out all your mails (just in case of crashes). I also order the tapes in the weekend. I hope I can find the guy's phonenumber somwhere, calling is better then writing. Remember: more contributors are always welcome. Burning is no problem, I counted quickly, but out of 38 people we have 23 CD recorders. Kind of sidestepping here, but I have 2 FM copies of the Glasgow Barrowlands 3/20/97 show, 1 from BBC UK FM, 1 from Belgium FM. THe anouncers both id the show as 3/20/97, but the Belgium Broadcast doesn't have this sample, and although the set's the same, the song's are not identical... The shows aren't the same, that's obvious. Does anyone know which one's the real 3/20/97 and which one's not (and what is it then?)
