One of the better ones I have found is Wire. it focuses on new music whether it be classical, jazz, electronic or whatever. Coil was on the cover last month. You should be able to find it at any large chain book store. oh and all of you orbsters should take some time away from what you are supposed to be doing and play with the flash sequencer on http://www.ninjatune.net/ninja/artists/amontobin/index2.html you can mix amon tobin's samples together and it is really fun. it is under the supermodifier link. all you need to do is download the flash 4 plug in if you don't have it. If you are not familiar with Amon's music it will give you a taste. His new albulm like his other ones is ausome. but that is just my opinion. merrick ________________________________________________________________ The main thing to understand is that we are imprisoned in some kind of work of art. - Terrence McKenna - ---------------------------------------------------------------- phone address (312)492-7461 800 S. This was a follow up miny tour right on the heels of the big orblivion tour. Anyway, right before the show, I remeber LX played an incredible DJ set, much of it mixed with the KLF chillout release. I was wondering if anyone else is familiar with this set, or any other sets he did during this mini tour, or better yet has any of them on tape. I read on this list at the time that many of the DJ sets he did on the mini tour were similar. Anyway listening to the KLF chillout, I started thinking about that set and I remember reading that Alex and Jimmy were working together right prior to the release of chillout and had a big fight and patterson took his samples and cauty took his and each went on their own way, cauty's sample amounting to much of what is on the chillout release and patterson's samples ended up being the 'space' release. So I was thinking it would have been really cool if LX had been spinning his samples back over top of the chillout release of us lucky enough to have caught a glimpse at what the collaboration may have been like. I have never heard the space release and I was not thinking along those lines at the time and maybe I am just nuts, I could be wrong about the specific projects prior to and after the cauty/patterson fight. any words any one???????? ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 Jun 2000 19:30:32 -0700 From: Jeff Pitblado Subject: Re: (orb) patterson/cauty fight > their own way, cauty's sample amounting to much of what is on the chillout > release and patterson's samples ended up being the 'space' release. Paterson was not involved with Chillout, that was purely a Drummond / Cauty thing. It was Space that Paterson / Cauty were originally woking together on, and when they had a disagreement, patersons samples were removed and it was released as a Cauty solo album on KLF Communications. Any rift between Cauty & Paterson has long since ended.
