With this file you can verify your downloads using winsfv32 which you can find in the warez dir. This verification is important !! As long distance downloads may have errors (1 bit wrong) resulting in ticks lost frames or desastrous errors in your downloaded file. If everyone keeps the sfv file along with the files the originality of those files is sustained. Future Plans for the site: ========================== We will manly host Music Video's and live bootlegs and maybe some out of print work. I just bought a copy of a German electronic music magazine named "Auf Abwegen" (#29, summer 2000). It features an interview/documentary with/on Thomas Fehlmann (page 10 f). There's a photo next to the article on which he looks like Ben Kingsley in Ghandi (I swear this is true). So anyway, Fehlmann talks about his role in the Orb's music and I thought y'all might be interested to hear what he's got to say (translated, of course): "I am not a member that's going on tour with the Orb. If I do, it's just to deejay as a warm-up. I'm more like that one that brings order to The Orb, the "efficient German" that comes walking through the door and starts cleaning up the mess a bit. This means that Alex passes me rough musical pieces that I try to shape up. He is then reacting to my work in return, it's like a game of ping-pong. My work for the Orb mainly takes place while the music is being created. Fine-tuning it and mucking about with the sound is up to others." The Matrix soundtrack... or Lost Highway? ===>Well, an Orb soundtrack to The Matrix would be interesting, but I can't imagine a David Lynch film without the music of Angelo Badalamenti.... It would sorta be like a Tim Burton flick without Danny Elfman's music.... (Wasn't there, however, at least one Burton film without an Elfman score?) Speaking of Burton and Elfman, I watched Sleepy Hollow the other night. I know a lot of people (critics included) didn't like it, but I thought it was one of Burton's best to date--I was quite impressed with it. Some genuine scares, too--the atmosphere was phenomenal.... Then again, *anything* with Jeffrey Jones can't be all that bad. ;-) Later! Now that's a track :) ===>The Frank de Wulf remix of "Blue Room" blows the (yawn!) forty-minute version out of the water any day. Definitely one of my favorite Orb tracks, too, along with the vocal versions of Perpetual Dawn (Solar Flare & Youth mixes), U.F.Orb, and Backside of the Moond (Under Water Deep Space). Yow! Later! I like Pomme Fritz cuz' it thinned out the 4/4 heads and the people who stuck with it got to see The Orb grow and mature. Plus there is that sound throughout the whole album like a distorted explosion under water. Honestly, does no one know how to use Lazlo's discography? It is from the Serious Road Trip compilation. There is some question as to whether it is the same version as Plateau (Andy's dub) from Orbscure Trax; I've never tried to directly compare them, but I don't think they are the same. These tracks are not much alike. "Plateau (of normality)" sounds much like the version of "Plateau" from Live '93. Andy's dub is a harder, more agressive (as Andy tends to be), version of the tune. - -Pete ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Jul 2000 00:35:59 EDT From: LiquidW@aol.com Subject: Re: (orb) Re: OOBE & mpg videos In a message dated 7/20/00 2:18:12 AM Eastern Daylight Time, p024070b@pb.seflin.org writes: << > > > HAS ANYONE HAD A O.O.B.E.????? > > > I have taken it pretty seriously since I learned that those that I > > > look up > > > the most have had them!!! > > I used to have them fairly often when I was a kid (5-7 years old) ... > haven't really had them since then, that I can recall. I expect that most I (think I) had a few of these a few years ago. the simple explanation I heard was that you try to roll w/o moving while your in that twilight stage. luckily at the time, mosy of my days were naps so that was no big deal. I have two distinct memories of oobes & they were interesting. the only way I can describe it as going to a 'very peaceful' detached place, but there was no reason why it was peaceful that I could tell, it just was. that said, oobes are most likely indistinguishable from dreams (you don't usually bring back any proof) & I think thats what mine were, even tho they didn't feel like any other dreams I've had.
