Admittedly less straightforward than his previous stuff, the sound design, variety, and overall flow is incomparable. My Meat Beat-fanatic friend observed that it's "Pot Sounds" made into an album. I highly suggest that anyone on the list who hasn't checked it out do so. Not to be a jerk, but /SS/ is not really any more "just Jack" than previous efforts, as the guest list on /SS/ is quite extensive. The "split" occurred when Jack moved to the US, eventuating Johnny's reduced input, though Jack always did the lionshare of the production anyway. But, whether you're a fan of /Satyricon/ or /Subliminal Sandwich/, you should definitely go pick up Jack's new 12-inch "Eccentric Objects", available only at sputnik7.com And anyone is the San Francisco area should come on down to the release party for Tino's Breaks Volume 5!
