Definitely worth the wait! Sounds soooo much better than the mp3s I've been living off of since last year. Here's what I think of the new tracks, since I'm sure v1 tracks have been discussed ad naseum, new version of MLLOL sounds awesome though! alex cleaned it up and streamlined into a nice fucked up goove, definitely tasty. I like the interludes, gotta have jokes on an orb album, Firestar is prime orb not taking itself seriously, and Egnable is some whacked out shit, classic! Centuries, no disrepect to anyone who likes this song, but its kind of pissing me off, I totally agree with those of you that think Ralf kicks ass, and I think Cydonia would be a much stronger album with if it were at this position in the album and centuries remained in the unreleased bin, but hey thats just my opinion. Plum Island that dub bassline hits me and I know its all gonna be OK Hamlet of Kings, yes!yes! this song is fucking great! Thursdays Keeper, I like this track a lot and I was stoked to find out it was a new Orb track because its my favorite part of the Betalounge set! Definitely not typical orb, but a seriously dark and funky track Terminus is the real beauty of the batch of course, it sounds like a lost track from Orbus Terrarum, memories of drifting on oceans of possibilities... My housmate tells me that Soddy Shearwater (vocal sample at the beginning of terminus) is a type of seabird. Founding frontman Alex Paterson and a band of Orb associates will take their eccentric electronica on the road for 12 North American dates - marking their first Stateside outing in four years. The Orb will squeeze an April 4 Chicago gig in the midst of a United Kingdom outing, then return to American soil April 12 to formally launch the tour in Florida. The group stays on the road through April 28, when they finish with a gig at the Coachella Vally Music Festival in Indio, Calif. ===>i think pollstar is f**ked up on the dates here but it sounds as though the orb might be playing an april fools in chicago. thing is, they have this show listed to play chicago, metro on the 1st of april in the tour information section but state in the breaking news to be on the 4th of april. is this a joke or what? i know there playing the metro on the 23d of april - i just bought the tickets. anyone figure this one out please let me in on the punch line. john # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Mar 2001 14:53:35 -0600 From: John Moxness Subject: (orb) 23 anyone else notice in the orbsaurus what it says about bicycles & tricycles being a reference to the magical number 23.
