(snipped so reply doesn't bounce) Right, I (dis)agree here as well. I've heard him mix jungle incredibly seamlessly, doing crossfader antics and so forth without even thinking about it - he actually seemed disinterested in the proceedings and rather distracted. (To comment on another thread; after his set he signed my Terrarum insert (the one that goes behind the clear disc holder - looks neat) "In Orb we trust, (heart) LX.")(And further related - - he was really quite chill and amiable both signing stuff and later when I was hanging out on the tour bus with him and Meat Beat Manifesto - - I don't mean to name drop but jeez I never get that lucky. At any rate, it's well known that touring is full of promotional duties and so forth, so I'd be pretty understanding if the guy was in any kind of mood while dealing with them.) As far as hearing a mistake or what not, well, yeah, I've heard him goof up maybe a couple of times, but that happens to all DJs - everyone gets so obsessed if a guy gets off a little bit, but I'd much rather hear someone creatively program a set and mess up a couple times than play a boring set full of long, flawless mixes - the latter is by far the rule rather than the exception. And I completely lost my mind!!!! Long ambient soundscapes, jazzy and funky beats, loads of samples (voices and effects) and a set that goes from deep trippy stuff to heavy drum 'n bass and again from the most beautiful soundscapes into dub and from that into uplifting deephouse and some breakbeats. They not only enjoyed us, but they seemed to have a very good time themselves also. It reminds me of The Orb in 1994 playing also with a drummer, bassist and percussionist. Bays also used loads of voicesamples, heavy basslines and some beautiful ambience. When you have a change to see and hear this band, please do so. You won't be disappointed!!
