I think that, as a male, I like Roswell (in case you care) because it shows a deeper than usual intelligence in direction and scripting (other than Liz's line "Max...something's down there." in last week's episode). As a Kiwi I really get tired of a lot of American shows which gloss over emotion and don't appear to have a clue about true human interaction. I am not saying Roswell is brilliant, just a better example than most. It's a step up from Dawon's Creek which is a mile away from the usual American fare (apologies to all the Americans on the list) Dawson's Creek now plays in NZ right before Roswell and it's interesting to note the differences. I was naughty and read all the transcripts so I know whats going to happen and it's driving my flatmate crazy - I keep thratening to tell him. As a tv producer myself (albeit for a local channel) I aspire to write and direct drama and Roswell inspires me.
