It's the end of the year... time to take those 1997 calendars down. But wait... don't throw them away!!! Picture calendars: make great envelopes!! Take an envelope template and make your own pretty envies from old wall calendars Desk calendar pads: save that cardsboard backing for many uses! Use it under your stamping area for nice stable and firm cushioning when you stamp. Now, if you can get your hands on a couple of those desk pad calendars... they also make great scratch paper. I have one on my stamping desk at all times. When the top sheet is soiled, I just tear it off and voila!... new stamping surface! Of course, I work(ed) in an office, so we get lotsa those for free!! :-) - -Fran the Frantic Stamper :-@ - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Dec 1997 01:18:29 -0500 From: "Lisa Mallette" Subject: Re: RubberTown: Tip: Save your calendars!! Hi Fran! Don't forget those small office calendars that you stick on a plastic holder every year (you buy just the pages). I use the previous year's pages for a scratch pad/grocery list. I just hang it up next to the phone on a bent-out paper clip on the wall (those holes come in handy). Once I find a good used blender at the thrift store, I can see these pages going into it for hand-made paper! To me, for now, it doesn't matter if they are in a particular topic listing or not, since I have a wide mixture and very few stamps per topic. Anyway, after they have been logged in, I then insert them into a 9-pocket plastic sheet used for sports cards and CCGs collecting. Not all of mine have been inserted into these sleeves, but now that I have more sleeves, I can continue to do so. I will be adding to this an idea one other poster mentioned. I will stamp the images in to portions of paper and attach them to the pocket containing that um. Dear Friends, I would like to take a few minutes of your time and thank all of you who sent my daughter cards during the difficult time she was experiencing! Thank-you from the bottom of my humble heart! I know Barbara has been thanking each of you personally (she is a little behind and has several that she still needs to do), but I felt it was important for me to show my gratitude, since I'm the one who made the request! You will never, ever know how much all the cards, letters, words of encouragement, and even some gifts meant to her! I wish all of you could have been here to see the expression on her face as she opened each of your cards! Usually when she would come home, she would plop down in the chair, complain a little , and just sort of veg-out! Not when the cards started coming! She would run to her room anxiously looking for them! They gave her something so special to look forward to each day! There are no words appropriate enough to express my sincere appreciation for the generous and thoughtful nature so many of you displayed toward my Barbara! I'm indebted to all of you and if there is anything I can ever do for any of you, please, I'm just an e-mail away, so ask away! Lots of love & hugs . . . Cross posting is not good "netiquette." Many of us are on both lists and end up wading through the same messages both places.
