You can bind them by thread, or glue, or there are lots of different ways. You can have enclosures on them consisting of ribbon, a button, charm, etc. Bookmaking is neverending, just like rubberstamping. I incorporate the two of them as I know others do also! It's also a collage swap since I am titling it Voyages Collage Swap. Take items of any travel theme (maps, foreign postage, suitcases, airplanes, ships, written letters, postoids, etc.) and put them together into a collage somehow. Either a stamped collage or a layered collage. I just call it Voyages cause that's what Somerset did? Do you have that issue? It's really cool. Think it was their second issue. Last year when this swap was done, it was mostly collage. People used old maps laying around, foreign money, postage, images of ships and images of the world. There was some really neat stuff that came out of that swap. Also, I am hosting a small handmade book swap right now also, sounds like you might be interested in that. I've been making books the last two nights and having lots of fun with it. I don't know of any collage online stuff, but if you hear of anything let me know also. I am getting more into collage everyday. US Artquest has a ton of really cool stuff for collages: pearl ex (hosting a swap for this too!), mica sheets, lots of little flakes, glue, etc. They also have 3 videos dealing with collage. I have the latest on order but also want the older 2. Rubber Chicken Lady is selling this stuff and has posted in the last couple days of details about what she is carrying. Let me know if you have any questions. Kari At 10:17 AM 1/2/98 EST, you wrote: >Sorry to post this to all but direct mail to Kari is being returned as >undeliverable. Please don't send me extras as I will be playing too! Remember, let's make this fun and send some really cool confetti!!!! No stars/hearts! LOL HOW MUCH TO SEND: Depends on you. But I would suggest, no less than a 3 x 3 little baggie 1/3 full. POSTAGE: $1.00 for 5, $2.00 for 10. If any of you have any suggestions for a different amount, please contact me. I'm not sure how to do postage for this one as some people may send big amounts compared to some send smaller amounts. I will try to swap equal amounts but that will be hard to do, cause I don't want to split up packages of confetti. Any ideas? Did I forget anything? Oh, yeah.... SEND TO: Kari Mattocks P.O. Some people used images of compasses (or at least I think that's what it's called). You know the circle that has N, S, E and W on each side. And people used anchors also along with images of ships. I see that most people used ships in their collages. I don't see why we can't put other travel stuff in it. Maybe I'll change the name of the swap to Voyages/Travel Collage Swap! LOL There are also those cool travel images by All Night Media. One is the statue of liberty, another is Big Ben, then that big bridge in California (can't remember name) and then another tower type image. Yes, I'm ignorant with my landmarks! But I got all these images under the christmas tree this year!!! Pennsburg, PA 18073 - - ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 2 Jan 1998 17:11:42 EST From: FranRShaw Subject: RubberTown: AD: Flower paper/cardstock (special purchase) I recently found a really REALLY pretty cardstock and matching paper. I call it "flower paper/cardstock" because that's just what it is... paper with real dried flower petals in it. This is not a handmade paper... but a smooth writing paper (28 lb) and a matching smooth cardstock, with actual flower petals in the paper. It comes in 2 types... one has LOTS of petals, and the other has fewer, more space out petals. Both come in the TEXT (paper) weight and CARDSTOCK weight. Now, here's the problem... these are VERY expensive (I was shocked!) but they are GORGEOUS! The good thing is I don't have to buy a whole ream... they come in packages of 100... so I can order only as much as I need. I will be ordering/picking up these on Jan. 10th and shipping Jan. 12th. I will take pre-orders ONLY and buy only what you order. Here are the prices (full 8½x11 sheets): -->Sparce petals (text weight) 10 sheets for $3.75 -->Sparce petals (cardstock weight) 10 sheets for $7.50 -->Lots of petals (text weight) 10 sheets for $3.75 -->Lots of petals (cardstock weight) 10 sheets for $7.50 Shipping: 10 sheets/$1.75 -- 20 to 80 sheets/$3 Please e-mail me if you want to be included in the order. I would like to have most of the money before I pick these up (as they are quite spendy!!). I WILL NOT cash any checks before the paper is shipped!!!
