That way they can all have a treat and a little piece of candy isn't going to throw anyone off wack. At Halloween time we did use diabetic candy for those who needed it. For Valentine's treats, we are using doilies and going to stamp on the doily with a valentine stamp. We will then cut two little slits, one one each side and insert a sucker. Tape a little on the back side to hold the sucker in place. If you are sure to get small pieces of candy, it isn't too much of a problem. We have 100 of those buggers to make next weekend. I tried the "cheapest" hook and loop and it is no bargain - it soon loses its grip both on your stamp and on the mount - the industrial strength stuff (I buy mine from Ellen at Evolving Images) works far better and you don't need much of the stuff you put on the mount - just the stuff you put on the rubber. I would never "dismount" the ones on the wood mounts already - foam mounts yes but not the wood mount ones. They are so beautiful in themselves that I would find a way to keep them just as they are and have the two systems going - wood mounted and HALOS for the UMs you buy. I'm beginning to ask myself why >I even fuss with the static cling when plain old cellophane tape holds >up that well. > I pretty much agree with you, Diane! I've been in the process of "changing over" for a few months now. I have a couple thousand home mounted stamps, but recently purchased the HALOS system to see if I liked it. I used up all the loop tape I'd gotten, but still wasn't sure I wanted to face re-doing all the ones I have on wood. As an interim measure, I've been putting the unmounted I just HAD to use, on regular cushion and using double-stick tape. I buy the double-stick tape in a large roll and use an office type tape dispenser and I'll be darned if it doesn't work almost as good as the HALOS. I can stamp as many times as I need to with one "sticking" and can often use the same piece of tape for another stamp as well. Now I'm more confused than before as which way to go. I really like the "depth" of the wood mount versus the acrylic block. I've considered just sanding down various sizes of wood block (like the acrylic blocks, having only ONE of each size) and perhaps coating them with polyurethane so the tape sticks better, then using regular thin cushion and double-stick tape. My only reservation is the cost of the tape and cushion over the long run. I pay like 4.89 for 50 yds on the bigger roll of tape, but perhaps over years and years it WOULD be cheaper with HALOS, since I'd still have to buy cushion to use with the tape. Still, I could strip all my home mounted stamps and likely use the cushion already attached, rather than replacing it with loop tape......LOL!! Decisions, decisions!!!
