Could someone please tell me what the RAK list is and also the Tribe Buddy --- all of the posts describing the art work and the community that revolves around this group are absolutely wonderful. I need to know more! :) Someone asked about submission for publication in magazines a couple of days ago -- Rubberstampmadness' next submission deadline is March 5, 1998. The theme is "Takin' Care of Business" -- this theme is for their 100th issue, so they will feature stamp art that commemorates and celebrates this milestone. They accept centerfold submissions (size - 5 1/2x7 inches) and cover art submissions (size -- 10x12 3/4 -- be sure to leave room at the top for the RSM logo). Also, no embossing, 3-d embellishments, glitter or laminates. That's all I know -- you can check out their website to see for any other additional info or if there are any changes (sometimes they extend the dates) -- www.rsmadness.com Always trying to find time to stamp -- Francine fferr@hotmail. com ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com - - ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Feb 1998 00:26:48 EST From: Rbrstamped@aol.com Subject: RubberTown: COMM: Updated Stamp List: 25-40% off retail (long) All items listed on sale from 25% to 40% off retail!!! When I got the envelope, I thought it was perhaps a catalog, but then opened it up to find all these wonderful unmounted images! And you couldn't have sent a more wonderful assortment! It's funny, too, since I kept planning to order some of these images from her sale, and just never got around to it - and some of the ones I was going to order were in this assortment! How did you know?? There is a wonderful large stamp of a group of trees, a beautiful 'angel post', one with a mandolin, horn, and book surrounded by foliage, some really cute cat images, celestial images, neat sayings, even a cute little mouse holding a blank page. All together, there were over 15 images - such a wonderful package! Thank you so much, tribe buddy - you really made my day! As you know, we filled out questionnaires before getting involved in the swap, and yet my TRIBE buddy has had a friend email me a few times to see if there are other things I want/need and especially to wish me a happy birthday last month and see what I wanted as a special gift (which she says is on the way now). :-) It means a lot when someone can act like this. Each email brought me a smile, knowing that my buddy was thinking of me. Today came my January package. She packed everything very well. At the very top is a beautifully made Valentine's Day card and something I have wanted for a long time - a DOTS catalog!!!! Thanks so much!!!!! Under the catalog are two large plastic containers (these are wonderful gifts in and of themselves - I can use them for SO many things). Let's see if I can get through each of them. In the smaller one we have apple fantasy body spray (mmmm, smells SO good), pear fantasy body spray (not only will I smell fabulous, but I'll get hungry at the same time! but no fear - she's taken care of my hunger, too) ;-) tons and tons of hershey kisses with almonds!!!! oh, YUM!!!!! In the larger plastic container are cards with cutout hearts! What great cards I can make with these!!!! Red paper twists that always come in handy, white heart stickers, card sized cardstock in hues of pink, lavender, white, marbelled colors.....perfect for making more Valentines cards, a rubber stamp with two intertwined hearts (really nice!), a beautiful rubber stamp of an angel holding a heart (takes care of my love of angels!), an angel punch!!!!, a little bag of charms (I've never had these before, so I can't wait to play!), a package of adhesive mounting strips, two marvy markers (pink and purple) and last but certainly not least, two packages of confetti hearts! One is red and sparkly and the other is multicolored. Thanks SO much!!!!! Everything is just so wonderful! You bought me things I wanted even before I had a chance to ask for them. ;-) You are one in a million. *hugs* Claudia @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- LadyRose@ix.netcom.com POSTCARD interests: Lighthouses, angels maps, stadiums, kittens and recipes covered bridges, and lightning cards @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- Visit my homepage: http://www2.netcom.com/~ladyrose/ - - ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Feb 1998 14:01:01 EST From: DAdams1959@aol.com Subject: RubberTown: anyone from Fulton, KY? I can't tell you about the Tribe stuff because I really don't know! The RAK list is a list of people who have signed up to RAK each other. RAK = RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS. So, if you were on the list, you would have people's names and address' and you would send cards or bookmarks or whatever you wanted to these people. Is that about as clear as mud? Let me know if you want to join the list. We just started it this week so you aren't "late" or anything. You would just send me your name and address. It's very easy for a vendor to send us something in stock, take their check and go. It's when you have a special request for something that tests vendors, I think. I came to Wenonah with a request for something she did not have in stock. Not only did she find it for me, but she was put on hold by the company. However, she kept in touch with me every step of the way to let me know what the hold up was and today a package arrived from her with my order and some Valentine's Candy, and of course her special rubber stamping all over the package!!!! big thanks, Wenonah! I am moving and need to get rid of stuff! I have a whole shoe box full of cards for newbies. I must warn you that these are mostly newbie cards. And yes I can say that cause they are my newbie cards from 4 years ago. I did most of them and can't keep them anymore. If 5 newbies send me postage, I'll stuff envies full of these. Let me know - first 5 newbies get them. If you put only my name in the post, it gets to me much faster! I've been rak'd for the first time - in fact I've been double rak'd!!! I received a beautiful Valentine's Day card from Christine. I'm not sure how the background is done, but I think it was done with watercolors, it's pink with a darker shade of pink criss-crossed over it. On top of this are 7 hearts of various sizes which have been embossed with white ep on white glossy card stock and accented with pink and green markers. The hearts are on the dots that make them stand out. The card was mailed in an envelope made from a calendar or magazine page - really beautiful! I also received a bookmark from KalicoKathy. I've never made a bookmark, but this has really given me the incentive! The bookmark is red CS with fancy edges with a white CS on top with cat stamps and cat punches and a really neat border punch too! I also received two pieces of wallpaper samples which coordinate, can't wait to use them! Thanks so much for truly making my day and providing me with the incentive to get stamping and raking right away!!!!
