I got RAKed by Lisa Hedman! She senta card created on a tan CS with fibers. She mounted dark green CS on the front with gold photo corners. On that she mounted a rafia bow and a piece of tissue paper that had been wrinkled, smoothed and cut with a deckle edge. The tissue was stamped with a sunflower, embossed and colored with what looks like chalks. Inside Lisa stamped a simple message: Just saying hello. I especially like the textured effect created by crinkling the tissue paper. And I only thought you could use photo mounting corners for scrapbooking! Thanks Lisa! I had a roll of laminating film left over from when I was a teacher. Now this is sold on a big roll (250 or 500 ft.x 24" wide) and it is intended to be used with the big heat laminating presses that you often find in schools. But I cut the film to size and used it (with the carrier) in my Royal laminator. Obviously, it is easier to use the pre cut pouches but this is much less expensive if you are going to be using it a lot. This is also a thinner guage film than the pouches but I find it holds up nicely. (I used it for laminating everythign in my Kindergarten class.) You can find the rolls in Demco catalog. I believe the one I bought was about $40 but it will last forever. I imagine that you can find something similar in the Nasco or Dick Blick catalog. Just an idea. Frustrating: First of all I was supposed to meet up with my ride at her house at 7:30 in the morning. No Problem. I get up at 6:00am (an obnoxious hour for me but worth it), do the morning routine and am out the door at 7:00 and at her house by 7:20. She informs me once I am there that we can't leave yet...her grandparents are going to be late and they are the babysitters for the day since her husband had to work. To make a long story short...I get to Carson late...missed the meet up at Sheryl Porters booth...forgot my purple ribbon/pin...and didn't see one while I momentarily looked away from the rubber. I am so bummed I missed everyone...but I will most definitely drive myself in July! Great/Tiring: I am generally a very slothful person...my activities are sitting at the computer, sitting at my stamp desk, stitting in front of the tv...etc. So I am a very out of shape...very tired little stamper. But the convention was great! And it wasn't as crowded as I thought it was going to be. I figured with it only being one day that it would be a mad house...but I had no problems at any of the rubber pits and I was able to get in to any of the booths I wanted to. And I found Zettiology. I had heard many people mention them but had never seen any of their images...needless to say I dropped the majority of my money at their booth. And after Carmen's and RBBB and Renaissance Stamps (new to me) I was out of cash and wisely left all plastic at home. Hope everyone else had a great day! I'll start saving for the next Carson convention immediately...July wll be here before I know it! The card was a lite yellow cs, with fancy edges, from one of those corner punches, with a dk grn sq of wallpaper and a yellow cs layered on that with GARFIELD!!! He is hating life and drinking coffee! SHe embossed him and colored in his bunny slippers and robe! Very cute! Thanx for starting my weekend on a happy note! Today I purchased some of the Encore! Ultimate Metallic stamp pads in blue, pink and purple. I am looking for the green and would also like to know what other colors are available. I also need some cardstock, but I don't know anything about it, so if I tell you all what I want it for, I hope someone will suggest which one is best and how to get it! I am making cards and I would like very pale, pastel pink, peach, blue and green, 20 sheets of each. I am going to use the metallics on it, and they are pretty light and I don't want the cs to overpower the image. Thanks for you help. This is my favorite monthly swap cuz it is so easy! Plus you get to see and collect a lot of the images that are out there........great for newbies especially! PROCEDURES: **Send ten (10)** cards 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch cards (half sheet of cardstock). Don't fold! Include an ADDRESS LABEL (SAML) for me to use to return the cards. **Send $1.00 for mailing the cards back** DON'T COLOR. Use WHITE - can be glossy or matte. Stamp in black ink that won't smear if colored with markers, or you can emboss. Tip: Vivid! or Outliners ink pads work great! EXCEPTION: Verses are ok in color - they seem to look better If you want to do different images on the cards instead of all the same, that is fine. Please include stamp credits. Put your name and e-mail addy on the back of each card. All cards must be postmarked by the last day of each month. Stamp things that will be EASY to cut out. Remember you will have to cut out what you get back to use to make your own cards. My address is: Eva J. The only exception is if you do a large stamp that can only fit a couple of times on the card, then the card can be cut in half and used like a mat. For example, a floral image from PSX is usually large, so just stamp the image twice on one card and the card could easily be cut in half. ** Procedures** Send TEN cards Send ONE DOLLAR + SAML Due in mail by end of each month.
