Date: 01 May 1999 23:12:35 EDT This is May 1st and I just recieved a new hangar lease. I am a tennant at airport #2 and they have made two separate leases. Since the security issues are different between the International Airport and Airport #2 I got a new lease for airport #2 without the security clause in it. From what I see this is the only change and it's not a lease that I am happy with nor do I feel they have rewritten it to include the issues which were agreed to verbaly with UGAA! I wish we would have voted on these during all the meetings when we had a couple of hundred people at the meetings. But we now have a very good secretary, who will take minutes. (I don't know if the last secretary took minutes or not, I haven't seen them.) The officers will make sure information is posted on the web site, and we will get newsletters out to these people who do not have the internet. Bruce has been doing a great job of keeping people informed through the web site. I know a lot of people can't make it to all the meetings. But a lot of people told me that it was a bad night to have the meeting. It was hard for Ray and I to go during a Jazz playoff game. So I don't blame anyone who chose not to go. Absent that, here's briefly what happened concerning the lease: a) Len Wojcik gave a report of his and Dave Haymond's meeting with John Wheat. Len said the airport was going to give nothing further and recommended we sign the latest lease. b) Gary Sackett, a lawyer retained by UGAA, reported on his discussion of the leases with Jodi Howick, the attorney representing the city. He too, said the city had expressed serious reluctance to make any further changes.
