I saw Pipgen twice last Saturday and both shows were amazing. The show at Lois and Clark college was the more "rock" of both (they played all their repertoire of "quick ass" tunes). The one at Satyricon (the CBGB of Portland) was, surprisingly, softer, with fewer of their most energetic compositions. Two different shows but both really exciting, without the slightest weak moment. The audience at Satyricon was packed and I have never seen the public so receptive about a show (meaning: listening + cheerful applause). This band has one of the most incredible groove I have seen in a while (specially when Wayne turn his synthesizer on "Hammond organ" position! Future shows? You might be right, but the possibility of a tour is not excluded (although Wayne was not too optimistic about it). I don't know for Mike, but Fred and Briggan are very excited at the idea of touring, and the time has never been better (two recently released records). At Lois and Clark college, there was also Buckethead trio and I have only two comments: - this guy is not human - not very exciting music (more of a showcase for Buckethead) Patrice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- From grudko06@wharton.upenn.edu Mon Apr 17 16:02:40 1995 Subject: masada dates? I was just wondering if Masada is playing anywhere in the NorthEast or Pennsylvania area anytime in the near future. I have never seen Zorn play live and would love to do just that.
