Hello all, I thought I would bring up the topic of one of Greg Stump's ski movies. If you like ZTT, you will like his ski movies because the songs he uses in his movies are groups like ACT, Propaganda, 808 State, Frankie Goes... Nasty Rox and SEAL. Anyway, in the very beginning of his big 1988 hit movie "License To Thrill", there was a fantastic Acid House song that was produced by Robin "BIN MIX" Hancock and CJ Mackintosh. I believe the song is called "Spectrum Is Green" or it might be called "Acid House Audio". Does anyone know anything about this song at all? Was it an exclusive song only made for this movie? Was it released on any 12" or 12" promo? Is it even under the Zang label? I'm really trying to find out anything on this mix so lets try and figure this out! I have frieds who love FGTH as they regard their music as hard, raw, unpolished, rock. To me their records seem more like brilliant pop! However, if you are looking for intelligent, well produced pop/rock with exciting musical arrangement and that smooth "hornian" feeling, you could do worse than listening to the following records: 1) Thomas Dolby: Astonauts and Heretics - in a league of his own 2) Pet Shop Boys: Bilingual - probably the best in British pop right now 3) Kate Bush: The Dreaming - the Fairlight makes anything possible. Demanding! 4) Peter Gabriel: Peter Gabriel (No. 4) - ditto! 5) Malcolm McLaren: Waltz darling - R. Strauss to a disco beat 6) Yello: Stella - even smoother than TCH 7) Scritti Politti: Cupid & Psyche 85 - post modern disco 8) 10cc: How dare you? - a pop classic (1976) 9) Prefab Sprout: Jordan: the Comeback - mmmmmmm... 10) Quincy Jones: Back on the Block - the American Trevor Horn Yes, at least five of these artists/groups have been connected to Trevor Horn in one way or the other. Guess who! I have not included ZTT-classics in this list. You've probably been there already, but Joerg's Trevor Horn Discography is -- naturally -- an excellent source for ZTT-sounding records (http://titan.cs.uni-bonn.de/~fitzner/). Right now: * The Corrs: Forgiven, not forgotten - promising Celtic folk-pop. * Bryan Ferry: Dance With Life - "brilliant" single produced by Trevor Horn Per Koch # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info ztt" in the message. # Postings must go to ztt@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ From: Ray Koh Date: Tue, 26 Nov 1996 12:09:41 +0000 Subject: (ztt) I like to listen too My top ten (for the mean time 1.
