Personally, I plan to buy the album anyway. Anything that I may have listened to only serves to increase the anticipation of the release. To some degree, this is very unfortunate. I was planning on making either mp3s (or something) of clips from *all* of the AoN albums in the hope that people would hear them and spend the energy to find the albums and buy them. I didn't plan to record the entire albums, probably not even the entire songs, but enough to get a good feel of the music (ie: slightly more than 30 secs). I guess now they won't get that free advertising. Hopefully that will be the end of it. Yeah, they jumped on me when I mp3s the Dream On single http://home.earthlink.net/~themgnt/dream.htm Knowing that I thought you'd get busted fairly quickly for putting up actual album tracks. > The letter was cc'd to 6 people at Universal, 1 at Polygram, 1 at ZTT, and > 1 at the RIAA, and also to an address that they apparently thought was my > ISP. A physical letter was also sent via certified mail. Ouch! I had time to download the files - I even did it from home with my slow 56k line - but a good investment. If anyone at ZTT follows this mailinglist, please notice: - - Since I downloaded the file with 16 minutes of the AoN tracks, I have played them constantly at work, in the car, and in my home. - - I have phoned to the 'old' Danish AoN fellows and played the new tracks over the phone - - WHAT GREAT free PR !! - - It should have been ZTT's homesites that gave out these REAL Art of Noise tracks. In stead of this more modern RONI SIZE remix, obviously aiming in selling and promoting the remixer and the a2bMusicPlayer more than promoting Art of Noise. (Not that I don't like the remixes, but the 16 illegal minutes are the real stuff, the kind of music that makes me simply can not wait for the album release) Though ZTT.COM and related AoN sites have improved during the last month, I must send zero points for this one. - - Torben (The Dane) # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info ztt" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email ztt@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # ZTT discography available at http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?ztt ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Jun 99 22:25:41 +0100 From: John McCormick Subject: (ztt) When released? Haven't heard what is on it yet. Universal records will be releasing it in the U.S. With regards to the AON, the album has been pushed back a week 29th with the UK release being the 28th. They did change the track order. I think it falls in line with that newer promo that someone had posted about a while ago. I have a copy but I haven't really had a chance to listen to it yet. The CD will contain a bonus disc of remixes according the the Universal press release. It doesn't say exactly, but it looks like it will be some or all of the UK remixes of Dream On. I'll be posting a scan of the one-sheet on my site soon...they have lots of other exciting things planned as well!! " Hey fairlighters !!! I was checking out imvs.com, and I did a search for AON. I was just looking through the regular titles, and I read a description for the UK import version of "Who's Afraid ? (I am assuming that this is the reissue)" . There was a bonus track called "Liquid Sky" that was mentioned. Has anyone else noticed this ? How does it sound ?
